- HEALTH

Choosing activities to dedicate to, it's immediatly emerged the urgency to face the problem of health. Problem that from the beginning appeared, in this so devastated social context, in disastrous conditions. But we want that also this participation becomes part of anintegrated strategy of development and does not only remain a sporadic participation, occasional and lacking in effects not only on the present but also and above all on the future.

Although the health sector has always been inserted in development programs of the large and small international organisms, that one in the region we choose did not introduce sign of participation, at least at the present moment.

The situation appeared disastrous under the profile of the structures, beacause they were not much, insufficient equips of proper instruments, inserted nearly exclusively in the city context and lacking in proper staff. The result is that a sick person of the outskirtses of the city, in case of a sanitary problem, must go on foot to the city, or if he's lucky by bicycle, in order to be treated...

Our objective then is to try to decentralize the structures, by transferring in the villages as well support centers, where to manage the less serious cases, equipping them of medicinal and nurses.

The first center where we took part in is that one of Kaniaka, the village where, after an accurate analysis of the situation carried out from the operators of AMKA Katanga, we have developed a participation strategy in order to completely transform the existing situation.

Our plan previews besides the management of local small ambulatory, the assumption of a local operator, the supply of medicinal also the support to the population of the village and the neighbourhood through course of sanitary hygiene.
