Lubumbashi is the main city in the Katanga region and represents the main economic centre in the DRC: it counts approximately 1,5 million inhabitants.

Administratively, the city has a mayor and is composed of 7 town halls, everyone directed by a burgomaster: Annexe, Kampemba, Katuba, Kamalondo, Ruashi, Lubumbashi and Kenya.

Because of the national crisis, the traditional industrial activities, once flourishing especially in the mining field, have been today sustituted by commercial activity.

The area chosen by AMKA to carry out its activities is the Congo Area, situated in the Ruashi town hall.
