Today Congo is a frustrated country. 1997: the thirty years
long of Mobutu Sese Seko's dictatorship ended. For Congo
it seemed to begin a new age but an "African World war "
exploded. The regular armies of six Countries fight on the congolese
territory for the control of the rich deposits of diamonds, gold
and coltan.
Results are catastrophic. According to the Red
Cross, the war has caused beyond 3 million deaths, three
quarters of which in the oriental regions. 12% of the children do
not catch up the first birthday, three million do not receive instruction,
400,000 are escaped from their houses and tens of thousand of children
soldier have been recruited to serve in the armed groups.

The Pretoria Agreement for the "Total and including Agreement"
in 2003 carried to the institution of a transitory government of
national unit that will lead the Country to the general elections
within june 2005.
But the process of peace and the arrival of the UN blue
helmets of MONUC
contingent didn't stop the combats on the field. The tutsi rebellious
groups, supported by the armies of Ruanda and Uganda, and the tribal
military services, in support to the governmental troups, continue
to fight.
And the civil population continue to live one war without images
and stories. Beyond 500 thousand refugees. 16 million persons
in constant food lack. 2 thousand doctors for a population of 50
million inhabitants. 2 million and half persons forced living with
less than a dollar per day. Only 45% of the population with access
to drinkable water.
